A Time For Mercy

Beskrivelse

Jake Brigance returns in this gripping legal drama, facing his most challenging case yet. When a young boy takes the law into his own hands to protect his family, the stakes couldn’t be higher in Clanton, Mississippi.

A courtroom battle over justice and survival in a town where loyalties run deep.

Jake Brigance, the lawyer known from A Time to Kill and Sycamore Row, is back and confronted with a case that tests his skills like never before. Deputy Stuart Kofer has long been shielded by the police code of silence despite his violent outbursts against his girlfriend Josie and her children. But one night, his rage crosses a deadly line, leaving Josie near death.

Josie’s sixteen-year-old son, Drew, sees no other choice but to defend his family by taking drastic action. In a town like Clanton, where hatred for a cop killer runs deep, Drew’s situation seems hopeless. The only hope lies with Jake Brigance, the one lawyer experienced enough to take on this seemingly impossible defense.

As the trial unfolds, the odds appear stacked against Drew, with the gas chamber looming as the likely verdict. Yet, Clanton soon learns that when Jake Brigance steps into the courtroom, nothing is ever certain. A Time for Mercy delivers a powerful, unforgettable thriller set in the same world that made John Grisham’s earlier novels bestsellers and inspired a major film adaptation.
