My Nightly Wanderings Under Shining Stars And Darken Skies

Beskrivelse

A man wagers at a soggy Christmas gathering that he can write a book, even though he’s not an intellectual. To avoid losing the bet, he sets out to create a book reflecting his everyday life and thoughts.

A mix of daily life reflections and musings on modern technology, all sparked by a friendly bet.

During a damp Christmas get-together, a man bets a female academic that he can write a book despite not being an intellectual. Naturally, he has to follow through on that challenge. The result is a collection that blends snippets of his daily experiences with his personal philosophy on living in today’s world.

He shares his views on topics like digital computer technology and the internet of things. For instance, he’s skeptical about self-driving cars, believing most people will still prefer to be behind the wheel themselves. And when it comes to self-driving motorbikes, he thinks they just wouldn’t be any fun.

But then, he entertains the idea of self-sailing amphibious mini container ships, along with a bunch of other wild concepts. These are the kinds of conversations he and his friends have during another equally soggy Christmas party the following year. And believe it or not, some of these ideas are genuinely serious.
