Who Looks After The Boss?

Beskrivelse

Leaders often face immense pressure balancing their well-being with the demands of their role. This book explores the challenges leaders encounter and offers insights into supporting their health and effectiveness.

Exploring the shared responsibility of maintaining leader well-being in high-pressure environments.

Being a leader is rewarding most of the time, but the constant changes, high expectations, and emotional demands can sometimes feel overwhelming. Leaders find themselves caught in the middle, juggling the need to maintain both their own well-being and organizational results, which creates a high-risk work environment that can threaten their health.

Just like anyone else, leaders and managers can experience strain. When their work environment becomes stressful and their well-being suffers, their energy and motivation can quickly deplete. This not only impacts the organization’s performance but also affects the lives of the leaders and their teams.

In WHO LOOKS AFTER THE BOSS?, authors Lill Palmblad and Louise Dinesen combine extensive research with years of practical leadership experience to offer a framework for addressing leaders’ well-being. They emphasize that maintaining leader well-being is not solely the responsibility of the individual leader but requires strategic prevention and involvement from multiple stakeholders.

The book stresses that leader well-being goes beyond managing busyness and workload. It’s a collective effort to create the right conditions for satisfaction, engagement, and health in leadership roles throughout the organization.
